2012 Youth Work Award Winners

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu sent a message of encouragement to youth workers across the UK as he presented the second annual Christian Youthwork Awards at Bishopthorpe Palace in November 2012.

Speaking at the award ceremony, hosted by his Youth Trust, Dr Sentamu said “Youth Work is an absolutely vital part of the Church’s ministry to a hurting world and we must not cease in our fight to make serving others an even greater priority”

The awards, which are run by We Love our Youthworker! and Youthwork magazine, gives an opportunity to discover and celebrate the diversity and quality of youth work happening across the country. This is a chance to hear stories of ordinary youth workers who will excite and envision hundreds and thousands of others. They offer a way of highlighting a few stories that demonstrate the bigger picture . The awards are just a small glimpse into the hours all youth workers are putting in, the sacrifices so many churches are making, the creativity being channeled and more importantly, the work God is doing. And so in celebrating individuals, the awards celebrate something much bigger. They celebrate you!
