Level One, Stirling Baptist Church - Most Innovative Youth Work 2015
Level One launched in 2014 in response to a local survey looking at the needs of young people. The drop-in centre now offers a place for young people to socialise safely, build healthy relationships, receive advice about employment and job applications and buy affordable meals. The centre works in partnership with other local agencies to offer the best to the young people without over-stretching staff and volunteers. Through this work, the team are able to offer Christian discipleship to the young people.
Andy du Feu from sponsoring organisation, Moorlands College, described it as a realisation of Isaiah 43:19, saying: "'See I am doing a new thing in the wilderness, do you not see it, do you not perceive it. I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert place.' That's what innovation is all about. Doing a new thing. The winning project bursts with this God-inspired creativity."
Rob Fraser-Binns received the award, thanking the church in Stirling for the ways in which they have got behind the project and celebrating all that God is doing in Stirling and in Scotland.
